Travel Grants

APEG often open travel grants specifically for nurses and allied health members to the Annual Scientific Meeting.  Please check on the current years conference site for details of any travel grants available.

In addition, if you are submitting an abstract to the conference, you can apply for the ‘general’ travel grant, if you fulfill the criteria outlined.  Again, check the current conference website for full details.

2017 APEG ASM travel grant for Nurses and Allied Health

The APEG ASM will be held in Hobart Tasmania this year from Sunday 26 – Wed 29th Nov.  Sunday/Monday will include the practical stream sessions with Monday-Wednesday offering the scientific program stream.
The amount offered will be $1000.00 per person + a complimentary registration to the full event (Sunday 26 – Wed 29th November 2017)

To apply for the Allied Health Travel Grant you must:
•    Be a  financial member of APEG (membership to be applied for and confirmed before application can be made)
•    Be a registered nurse or allied health professional working with children and adolescents with diabetes or endocrine disorders.
•    Submit an abstract for, or be a speaker at the Conference. *

* Abstract submission will be open from April 2017 and close on 7 August 2017.  (no extensions given).  However, the travel grants will be awarded by no later than 7 April, which is before abstract submission opens.  The timing is to provide as much notice as possible to organise leave and travel etc.  If you apply for, and are awarded the travel grant, but then do no submit an abstract for the meeting, the offer of a travel grant will be rescinded and offered to another individual who has fulfilled the criteria.

No travel grants will be paid until 2 weeks before the meeting date.
